Horror And Hope After A Massive Earthquake, Through The Eyes Of A 17-Year-Old

Another powerful earthquake rattled Nepal on Monday, leaving dozens dead and thousands injured. The latest upheaval followed one of the worst earthquakes in the country’s history — a 7.8-magnitude quake that killed more than 8,000 and left many more homeless.

gamesnepal replied to your post “Nepal has been and is still getting HUNDREDS of aftershocks after the…”

Lawsuit?

Yes. If people are coming around claiming to be professionals spreading false info, the first step would be to go file a complaint against them at the Ward office. Then if their advice directly (and maybe sometimes indirectly..depends on the situation and how much evidence you have) causes life or major property damage then you can file a lawsuit. I know this isn’t really a common practice in Nepal and regular people just don’t go around suing people, but it is an option.

You can also let the police know and they will arrest these scammers. After the first quake some idiot went around spreading false rumors of another 9 or 10 Richter scale earthquake was predicted and people started panicking. The Nepali police arrested these people and sent out a message saying they should only trust professionals and not some random dude off the streets.

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
