parelima:

A group of artists in Nepal are on a mission to transform Kathmandu into a living art gallery. Their PRASAD campaign aims to spread images of Nepalese heroes to inspire young people to make it big in their own country rather than leaving for other pastures.

Have you celebrated Bisket Jatra? What was it like, do you have any advice or thoughts?

This is the first time I’m hearing of Bisket Jatra. I’ve never celebrated it. A lot of Jatras in Nepal can be family or ethnic group specific so it probably isn’t something that my family celebrates.

Made in Kathmandu - short cut

Uncut version of Made in Kathmandu coming soon.
This film shows the whole process of producing a Makeda rug from wool dyeing to shipping.

Makeda’s story emerges from a collaboration between contemporary design sensibilities and traditional Tibetan-Nepalese knowledge, woven together in the high mountains of Nepal. Each Makeda rug is hand made in Kathmandu, using wools and dyes which age over time, developing a patina and depth in the rug that reflect its particular history. The rug is therefore never entirely finished, and is always being produced.

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
