what other languages influence the nepali language? i know that its similar to hindi, but where else do they borrow their words from?

Sanskrit is mostly the root for Nepali. Nepali, Hindi, and Bengali come from the same family of languages, so it has influences from there. Tibetan-Burmese rooted words have also been successful in infiltrating the Nepali language. As well as many Persian words like anaar (pomegranate), kaanun (law), shaheed (martyr) etc. And these days you can see many English words creeping into the Nepali vocabulary.

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.
