Behold Masala Chiya! Perfect cup for this snowy, yet sunny winter day. Recipe below (makes two cups):

-1 cup water

-1 cup milk

- Sugar (depending on taste)

- 5-6 cardamom pods (crushed with the shell)

-1 cinnamon stick (crushed. Powdered cinnamon works too)

- 3 whole cloves (crushed)

-2 Tsp. Loose black tea (I used Darjeeling black tea for mine)

In a saucepan, mix all the ingredients, except the black loose tea and bring it to boil. Add the loose tea after it starts to boil, and leave it in depending on how dark you want your tea to be. Garnish with powdered cinnamon, if desired. The ingredients can be tweaked depending on your taste. Some people also like to include fresh chopped ginger into the mix.

Enjoy!

Hey, can I ask you a serious question? I've literally no one else who can help me with this but I'm hoping you'll give me information. I was born Nepali but am British. My husband is white British but my mother is saying if I change my surname to my husband's, I can't renew my Nepalese passport? Is this true? I'm sure you'll be aware how our culture despises cross-cultural marriage but hey, this is the 21st century...If she is making me choose, obviously I'll remain in the UK especially w/ kids!

Changing your name to your husbands doesn’t mean you lose your citizenship. That’s nonsensical. Unless of course, you are a British national, as in you have a British passport, in which case you are technically not allowed to have a Nepali passport. Nepal doesn’t have a dual citizenship program. But, I think they have a program called “Non-residential Nepali” where you can be a citizen of a different country and still have partial Nepali citizenship. I’d advise you to call the Nepali embassy in London and speak with someone there. (+44 20 7229 1594)

Don’t listen to what your mother has to say. Luckily for me, my mother’s side of the family is super chill and would be completely okay with me marrying anyone. As for my Dad’s side..eh, not so much..but ask me if I give a shit. I think cross-cultural marriages are wonderful and an amazing way of sharing different cultures. I hope your problem gets resolved quickly. Goodluck! :)

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
