I really hate saying this but I used to really look up to Anuradha Koirala. Then I found out a few terrible things about her, like her hypocritical moves on actually taking part in human trafficking. I lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years while my dad worked there for the ministry, and a lot of the girls who were 'sold' were unaware of what they were signing up for, and a lot of them were trafficked by Koirala via Mati Nepal, I didn't know about this until recently when my parents told me :(

I can neither confirm nor deny these allegations. I’ve only heard of her positive works. Would it be possible for you to back this up with some concrete evidence? It’s not that I don’t wish to believe you; I just need some proof other than hearsay. Hope you understand.

Also, the whole situation of migrant workers in the Middle-eastern gulf countries is absolutely heartbreaking. These hardworking people are cheated and treated like slaves. Most of them are promised one thing beforehand and then soon after presented with something entirely different

Day 5: Talking to myself on the way to Namche Bazar (3400masl)

Walk as if you have the whole day to do so. This is not a race. Learn to respect the trail that has been trod by thousands before you, long before tourists and trekkers were pouring in, back when this land and this trail belonged solely to the people of the Khumbu region.

Respect the distance and take it slow. Imagine the time when the people of this region crossed passes and mountains for days and weeks, not to guide tourists or trekkers, not to haul supplies for lodges in Namche Bazar, but to trade with neighboring countries, or to perhaps visit a relative or to marry in other regions, to have a religious pilgrimage or purely because it is part of their culture and their lives.

Take time to see the scenery, not as measured by the snapshots of your camera, but the moments you are able to contemplate the sight and the moment before you. Take time, not only to look, but to see and greet the people that you meet, for you may never pass this way again.

And while in coming down, the same trail will be followed, the experience will be entirely different. Sieze the moment, take that shot, greet that person. As the saying goes, you never cross thesame river twice, so it is with trails and mountains and treks, we may be passing thesame path, thesame trail, we maybe climbing thesame mountain, but each passing, each trek, each climb is always different from the other. So Twyla dear, while walking slowly, try to make your passing count.

You can see the 7th-highest mountain in the world on the left (Daulaghiri, 8167m) and the Annapurna massif on the right. Very impressive, especially also during the night, where the full moon beautifully lit up the majestic mountains.

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
