My October:

High-altitude training in the legendary Khumbu region of Nepal! Home to many of the classics including Lhotse, Everest, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, Makalu…

From Kathmandu, our team will fly to Lukla airstrip, and hike to Island Peak base camp while following the lush river valleys leading to Namche Bazar, Tengboche monastery, and Dingboche, and more. A leisurely pace will be taken through the scenic Sherpa villages to ensure the climbers are properly acclimatized, and ready to acsend peaks exceeding twenty thousand feet!

Why October? Spring and fall constitute the most reliable weather windows; the jet stream moves off the high peaks with enough regularity to provide opportunities for safe climbing. With only Denali topping 20k feet in North America, this is an excellent time to test our bodies at altitude, and introduce our physiology’s to life with low oxygen. Island Peak, a relatively straight forward climb will bring us to 20k feet, and Lobuche East will bring us to 19k+ feet over more challenging terrain and exposure. The emphasis, however, like in all things is to practice by doing in the company of those who have done…..

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
