Ainslie spent the first night in Kathmandu in the surgery ward, which meant I couldn’t stay with her. They booted me out.

I found some accommodation and went to the nearest restaurant, which was filled with men drinking the stuff in the picture above. Hot water was being added to the mugs and I figured it was some kind of tea. I ordered one with my dinner and drank it down. It was nasty, but I didn’t want to be rude. Everytime I finished it was refilled, and I had to start again. It wasn’t until I stood up that realised that I had been drinking alcohol. I was exhausted and frazzled from the troubles of the day, and now I was accidentally drunk. Great.

I did later found out the drink is made of fermented millet seeds and has a similar strength to wine. It cost about 50 Au cents for a mug with many refills.

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
