your opinion on the movie everest? i watched the trailer and they only showed a nepali face ONCE and it gave me the same feeling like taylor swift's music video wildest dreams which plays in africa but they don't show any africans but just white people :/

The movie isn’t about Nepal or even Everest really. It’s just based on one man’s journey climbing “the world’s highest mountain” which happens to be Everest. I know it’s based on a pretty famous book; I can’t seem to remember the name now. I vaguely remember reading it in high school because I saw the word ‘Nepal’ in it and in the end I was like “meh okay”. I’d put my money and time some place else personally, but if someone wants to watch a westerner’s journey of climbing Everest with possibly lots of exaggeration or inaccurate portrayal of many things as Hollywood is infamous for: then ok this movie is for you.

The movie isn’t going to be about Nepal, it just happens to be the location of the story that’s all.

can you name us some deities that are only worshipped in nepal? like rato machhendranath?

Taleju Bhawani + Kumari as an incarnation of the goddess, Nava Durga Puja: Worship of young girls as representations of Goddess Durga and Shakti, Mahakaala, Bhimsen, …there is so much more. I’m only fully familiar with the Nava Durga Puja as I was worshipped in those ceremonies as a form of one of the Durgas when I was a child. It varies greatly from one ethnicity to the other and every community has their own local deity that they worship. I don’t know all of them unfortunately because it’s a very broad topic. Here is a link that lists some of the deities and talks about their significance:

There are quite a lot of books that also talk about it:

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
