abe-khajur:

After traumatising my entire childhood for not being a certain skin colour to be considered beautiful, Fair & Lovely decided to drop ‘Fair’.

I remember hiding and saving up the money for the cream and applying it secretively so my mom wouldn’t find out because she told me that cream will destroy my skin and I’m pretty as I am. But the adverts always said otherwise.

Well F*ck you HUL for making me and a million other impressionable girls and women feel inadequate because you know how people here consume media!

F*ck the emabassadors who contributed to this and supposedly inspired us to use this demeaning product.

A passionate F*ck you to the entire desi community who still perpetuate this clear colonial brainwashing amongst us.

It’s been a little more than 70 years since the British left, but they left us with immense self hate, communalism, homophobia and poverty.

Don’t celebrate the drop in the name, because it still stands for the same bullsh*t it stood for before. Support organic and native companies that produce beauty products for our skin.

We don’t need to be a certain skin colour just because dominant colonizers said that and made it norm for so long. We have enough man power to change that thought.

Do you know the difference it will make when 1.3 billion people choose to trash that mindset and destroy the status quo?

Our kids don’t need to grow up in an environment that tells them something they are born with ( to protect them from harsh sunlight because of our geographical location), makes them less appealing or unattractive. They don’t need to feel inadequate because of their natural DNA.

All arranged marriage aunties stop asking for fair girls or boys, we ain’t looking for skin cancer hazards in this tropical/temperate region.

Let’s respect ourselves a bit more desi people, I mean the entire South Asian stretch. We may be of different nationalities but let’s be real we have very very close common ancestory.

Lastly F*ck everyone who makes us feel any less for our natural appearance. We have had enough of your Sh*t.

About Me

I grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature.

Interests

I love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it.

Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers.

Aspirations

I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
