Hi guys. As many of you may have seen on social media or on the news, there was a 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal around 12pm (Nepali time) yesterday. There have been around 15-20 more after shocks since then and the country is in mass chaos. As a Nepali living abroad, I want to try and help as much as I can, as this hit really close to home. My family got a call this morning at 4:30am saying that everyone was okay, but a lot of people aren’t so lucky. There have been around 900 reported deaths, but that’s estimated to rise as rescuers find more and more bodies trapped under rubble. My friends created a fundraiser to raise money, where all proceeds will go to the Red Cross in Nepal, so please please consider donating. Every little bit helps. Also please feel free to share this message.

Hope your loved ones are safe and sound if they're in Nepal. Such a sad day in the history of our wonderful country. Yes absolutely devastating news. My great grandmother used to talk about “nabbe saal ko bhuichaalo” (the earthquake of year 90), the one that almost completely destroyed Kathmandu back in 1934 and how dharahara was in rubbles. Now I see the same thing but in pictures. Monuments can be brought back but the people are lost forever. It’s heartbreaking.

Earthquake Donations For people wondering about where they can donate: right now a lot of websites are down and I cannot get any Nepali Red Cross donation websites to load. I think people are just trying to cope with what’s going on and trying to update things quickly. That being said I do have the phone number for UNICEF Earthquake Emergency fund (1-877-955-3111). You can call them in North America and let them know you’d like to make a donation for Nepal earthquake. I’m looking into more organizations, but like I said things are still in a chaotic state. We’re gonna have to wait and see more organizations come forward in the coming days. If someone has links or organizations that we can donate to, please let me know!

Yes, they are all fine. Thank you! My parents are there as well right now for multiple weddings so it was very scary until I heard from them, but everyone that I know seems to be doing fine.

| About MeI grew up in a small town helping my parents on their farm. There I developed my love for nature and a desire to explore. Now I travel around the world photographing nature. InterestsI love to travel. I have been everywhere, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. For every trip I keep a travel log of my adventures and capture the world as I see it. Check out my photo gallery to get a glimpse into where I have been. And drop me a line if want to find out more. I always love to hear from fellow travelers. |
Aspirations
I am looking for my next big adventure. There are still many places I want to visit and even more to which I want to return. The camera is charged up and my backpack is packed; drop me a line if you know where I should go next.
